Full-Stack Distributed Core Banking System for a City Commercial Bank
This mid-sized city commercial bank launched its next-generation core system based on the eCas4.0 distributed architecture, marking a full-stack localization effort. From hardware and operating systems to middleware, databases, and applications, the project adopted an entirely domestic technology stack, establishing a localized innovation ecosystem. It will become the first core banking system in China fully supported by domestically developed software and hardware.
The legacy core system, in operation for over a decade, was upgraded with a customer-centric modular design. It supports parameterized configuration for business products and processes, as well as separation of transaction and accounting. New financial products can be flexibly and quickly customized via configurable parameters, with centralized management and differentiated pricing. These products can be instantly shared across all service channels to meet fast-changing market demands.
Focusing on financial security, the bank adopted fully localized end-to-end technology innovations, deploying a domestic distributed database as the production-grade primary system for core transactions. This marked a major breakthrough in applying domestic database technologies in the financial sector.
Transitioning from a centralized to a distributed architecture, the project adopted proven distributed technologies to build a new-generation core system that is secure, reliable, high-performing, and scalable. It lays a solid technical foundation to support future growth in customer base and transaction volume. The bank´s traditional centralized architecture could no longer keep up with evolving business needs.
