Internet Core Banking System for a Provincial Rural Credit Union
A provincial rural credit union embarked on the reconstruction of its e-banking and internet banking systems. The new system needed to support Type II and III account services, while handling high concurrency and offering robust reliability. However, the existing core banking system could not meet these demands due to several key limitations:
-
01
Early-stage architecture with limited system performance.
-
02
Weak configuration and componentization of deposit and loan products, hindering rapid product assembly and rollout.
-
03
Significant rework required to support Type II/III accounts, resulting in long project cycles and major impacts on existing transactions.
-
04
Database limitations on account and user volume, restricting scalability for internet banking expansion.
GienTech implemented its Internet Core Banking System, delivering a complete internet-based deposit, loan, and accounting framework. Based on domain-driven design, the solution incorporates pricing engines, a product factory, accounting models, and risk models—all supporting 7×24×365 operations. Built on a distributed microservices platform with high throughput capabilities, the system is fully equipped to support large-scale internet business growth.
The system went live successfully and now robustly supports internet-based deposit, lending, and payment settlement services. It achieved a transaction processing speed (TPS) exceeding 7,000, with all technical and business performance indicators surpassing design expectations.
