The client, a leading financial institution, faced challenges in data governance, including data duplication and inaccuracies, lack of data standards, absence of a structured data model, and missing tools for closed-loop data quality management. To address these issues, the project focused on building a data control platform centered around data quality, establishing a governance framework, enhancing the data architecture, and transforming data into accessible and valuable assets to support business innovation.
Through on-site interviews, policy reviews, and structured surveys, we conducted a comprehensive analysis of the client’s data management landscape. Using the Data Management Capability Maturity Model (DCMM), we assessed the current state, identified gaps, and provided targeted recommendations. Key project deliverables included:
Design and implementation of a data standards dictionary to ensure consistency and standardization.
Comprehensive data quality assessment and the establishment of a closed-loop quality management system, culminating in a Data Quality Analysis Report.
Design of a data governance organizational structure, with clearly defined roles and responsibilities across all levels.
Development of a comprehensive data governance policy framework, including policies for data standards, governance, and data security.
· Completed a thorough current-state assessment, narrowing the gap with industry leaders.
· Successfully delivered a practical data standards dictionary, ensuring consistent application across the organization.
· Enhanced data quality through closed-loop management, significantly improving the overall quality of the institution’s data.
· Established a full suite of governance policies, including Data Standards Management Policy, Data Governance Policy, and Data Security Policy, which have been formally issued across the organization.
· Designed a clear governance structure with well-defined responsibilities at each organizational level.
· Deployed a data control platform to consolidate governance achievements and significantly improve enterprise-wide data management efficiency.
