Smart Doorplate System for a Rural Commercial Bank
In response to the head office’s strategic directive of “Party Building Co-creation and Inclusive Finance,” particularly the “Three Areas of Full Coverage” initiative—(1) outreach, credit rating and loan approval; (2) thorough account management of deposits, loans, and non-performing loans; and (3) full-staff participation in marketing—this rural commercial bank aimed to solidify its development foundation, enhance service quality, and promote high-quality growth. To achieve these goals, the bank sought to deploy the New Rural Finance Grid Marketing Platform, supporting improvements in operational efficiency, revenue growth, customer retention, service capability, internal management, and resource coordination.
A QR-code-based marketing entry point was developed, allowing customers (including household heads and members) to conveniently access the latest financial products, news, promotional services, and enjoy one-on-one appointment services with relationship managers.
Mobile office tools were developed to assist relationship managers during village and household visits, enabling them to perform tasks such as visit logging, data entry, targeted marketing, collection routing, and customer engagement. The system supports precision marketing, accurate follow-ups, task assignment, milestone tracking, process control, and task supervision.
A big data platform was established using the Hadoop ecosystem and proprietary components. It includes a data acquisition layer and supports T+1 offline ETL processing of data packages distributed by the provincial credit union's ODS system. Real-time data from the smart doorplate system is visualized for authorized personnel, providing dynamic user profiles and detailed analytics of relationship manager activities.
The platform provides dynamic visualization of key performance indicators such as relationship managers’ visitation coverage, loan distribution, on- and off-balance-sheet NPL distribution, deposit structure and spread, and e-banking product adoption. It offers real-time business intelligence to authorized personnel via web dashboards and dynamic LED wall displays.
Mobile tools were further enhanced to support daily fieldwork by relationship managers—including customer visits, profiling, product promotion, collection navigation, and interactive communication—enabling full-cycle management of tasks and improving both service quality and efficiency.
