City Commercial Bank: Enterprise-Wide Technical Development Platform Supporting Digital Transformation
A regional city commercial bank (referred to as Z) initiated the migration and reconstruction of its core business systems, transitioning toward a distributed architecture. To support this effort, the bank adopted ORIGIEN as its unified development toolchain and foundational technology platform. Together with its architectural planning for the core system, the bank established a standardized implementation methodology and technical framework to guide distributed core system development and future upgrades.
Domestic hardware and software solutions were deployed within middle-office systems and underwent validation for stability and security—ensuring a strong foundation for technical innovation in the core system.
Unified development skills, publishing procedures, and operational controls enabled coordinated multi-batch development and deployment—improving delivery speed and quality.
The legacy system was modernized using distributed architecture practices, including microservices decomposition, database partitioning, dynamic scaling, distributed transaction management, and intelligent operations.
The ORIGIEN platform was introduced to support the refactoring of middle-office services and verify the feasibility of distributed development and operations. A microservices-based, distributed foundational platform was established to support future core system construction.
Standardization and Consistency: Transactional systems were standardized in terms of data definitions, interface protocols, development norms, transaction models, logging, and monitoring—reducing risks in future system development.
Stability and Performance: A distributed middle-office system was built using a mature framework, validating the platform’s availability, scalability, and security. This provided a solid foundation for future core system evolution.
Enablement for System Rebuild and Agile Growth: The experience and technical insights gained from this project positioned the bank to successfully undertake core system reconstruction and support rapid business iteration.
